It Looks Like Winter in the Sandbox

Winter snow mosaic with logo

The winter snow has finally arrived here in my area.  We have had lots of snow shoveling to do and I even tried out the snow blower on my own without running up the backs of the cars.  I have to say at this time of the year I like being out in the snow but that will change in a month or two when I want to get back out into the garden and there is no end of winter in site.  As a gardener I am grateful for this amount of snow as the plants get a good snow cover for the winter and some of those insect problems that we had last summer will be eliminated with the cold.  From a photographer aspect I like the little hats of snow that I found as I walked around. The Eastern Cedar trees have had the Cedar Waxwings in them looking for ripe berries to eat.  The other day I was at the local library getting another pile of books and I stopped to take a picture of the Literacy Garden Karl Foerster grasses in the snow.

I hope that you had a good Christmas and look forward to the new year ahead.  Have a great week.   Join us for Mosaic Monday with our host Mary.

The Week Before Christmas for Mosaic Monday

40277956b

It is rainy and dark here today.  I have had to have all the lights on in the house to see.   It is hard to believe that Christmas will be here next week by looking outside but that could change.  I finished up all the wrapping yesterday and the little tree looks quite festive now with the packages underneath.   My mosaic today is a few of the photos I took through the week and played around with in Lightroom and Photoshop. The cute little ribbon was from the Coffeeshop Blog.

I will be joining Mosaic Monday with Mary at DearLittleRedHouse.    Have a great week.

A Little Glitter

bOrnament triptch

So many things left to do before Christmas.  I am way behind and feeling tired already.  I wonder if Santa could bring me some enthusiasm this year for Christmas. I read a blog by a wonderful photographer some time ago who said in answer to those times you get photographers block that if you run out of things to take to photos of just go out to the kitchen and open the drawer. Well today I did that kinda.  I looked at the Christmas tree and said okay maybe I could take a few pictures of things that glitter.

I am joining our host Mary for Mosaic Monday.  I hope you are enjoying the season.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Ornaments mosaic

I have begun the chore of going under the basement stairs where I store all the Christmas ornaments and dragging them upstairs. My husband declared when I brought the tree up that he did not want a big tree in the living room this year and could I get a smaller one.  Grrrrrr! Tomorrow I will have to add new small tree to my ever growing to do list.  I have bought a few things for gifts but not many and I need to get going. Have you seen the parking lots these days!!!

Today was rainy and dark and I had trouble getting enough light to take some photos for this collage.  If you see me tomorrow I will have on my happy Christmas face but maybe not today.

I am happy to be able to share with you my mosaic for Mosaic Monday with our host Mary.   Have a great week.  Excuse my grumbling.
