This weekend Hubby and I went along with a fellow who knew where to find the Bald Eagles on Lake Simcoe. I had heard last year that there were some that had been seen up that way. I really wanted to see one. It was an off and on day weather wise with a little sun and then a little sleet and then sun again but was very windy by the lake. We did see many ducks out in the open water such as Mallards, Common Merganser, and Bufflehead. We did see the Eagles flying overhead and we got one shot.
Today we went back on our own to see if we could get a better look at the Eagles. There were hundreds of ducks out in the open water. At one point I was standing looking over the water and my husband went back to the car to get the camera and just then this large bird rose from somewhere below me and came flying up and all I could do was quietly call for Paul and watch with my mouth agape as he flew past me. Missed the shot again. All I can say was that it was magnificent with a huge wingspan and a large yellow beak. So I am told they birds will stay as long as the water stays open and the ducks are available for their food source. If the weather stays as mild as it has been we will go looking again.
I will be joining Mary for Mosaic Monday. Have a great week. Valerie

Congrats on your eagle sighting. Aren't they an amazing sight to see. I love your photos. I hope you get to see them again. Have a wonderful week!
You did get a good shot of the eagle flying. They are elusive to photograph. We saw lots of eagles while out west but didn't get a good photo.
Awesome majestic creative to personally see. Lucky you.
Have a beautiful week ~

Wow, definitely a bucket list sighting. How's the home working going? Stuck at this end.
It really is amazing to see the majesty of eagles! I noticed there were dozens of Canada geese on a small pond today! I miss some photos because I get excited! ♥
Wonderful mosaic...and what luck to be able to take those pictures!
Gorgeous creatures. It's so hard to get the perfect shot, isn't it? But you've done well.
How exciting...We have a lake nearby where Eagles nest and I always am thrilled with the sighting of one...Have a beautiful week!!!
Hi Val
Like trying to capture the wales out west - almost impossible.
Hope you do get a good shot to share.

As many as we see here, I never get over the thrill. In January we have eagles that perch in the trees around the house - the hens go crazy, the dog goes crazy and the ducks run in circles. It's a circus!
I love your mosaic! Awesome shots, just awesome.
Wow! Great shots!
Have a wonderful week,
Markus
Oh, I just hate it when I don't have my camera with me and then that fantastic opportunity comes along to have a PERFECT shot and your heart just sinks...I felt your disappointment! But looks like you did get some nice shots that are very eye appealing! Enjoying the mosaics.
