The other morning at the intersection my husband I noticed what looked like smoke but it was over the Marsh and we knew that it was because the air in the mornings are cool but the earth is still very warm and the air In between can appear smoky or foggy. The farmers are busy harvesting the crops and getting them to market. Here a tractor with the large crates going to the processing plant nearby.
I really feel blessed to be living where the city meets the country. There is so much going on. As a side note this intersection will be gone in a few months and a new one built to accommodate the new roads being built.

Nothing like good farm land which is disappearing. I'm wondering what that new intersection will look like. Bigger? Wider? More lanes?
You have the best of both worlds there.
I love autumn for the very reason you mentioned - the warmth of the earth. Even as the days and nights cool, there's still that radiant warmth from the earth that is so pleasant. It's unlike spring, when the sun first starts its warming on my back but the earth feels so cold.
The area about which you write is so familiar to me and I remember the large trailer-loads of pallets heading for the markets and packing plants. We miss a true fall on the island but my memory is stirred by your description.
We know that area . Haven't been there for a long time as we now live farther away south west of there close to lake Erie . My cousins lived east of Holland marsh about 30 years ago before all the cities crept up to the country area . We get the same type of fog here being in a valley with the river and swampy areas the higher ground temps are different then down in the valley and when the different temps meet that's when this type of fog forms . Great photo . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
Hi Val
I've been mesmerized by a stream of fog hanging mid- air a couple of mornings. So much road construction these days, especially in Innisfil.
