I was talking to my daughter in law on the phone this morning and catching up on the latest antics of our 8 month old granddaughter. She refuses to have a nap. I was casually looking out the back door to the deck at the snow that was coming down quite heavy in big flakes. There on the chairs that have not been put away yet sat these two doves all puffed up and enjoying themselves out of the direct snow fall. They didn’t move when I went to get the camera.
We got a good snow fall but it will probably disappear over the next few days. The news talked about all the accidents that occurred because people do not drive for the conditions of the road. Take care people.

The first snow fall usually throws everyone for a loop when you drive in it. People just need to slow down a bit!
Love your bird shots - hope they keep warm!

Beautiful photos Valerie. Mourning doves are so pretty aren't they. We haven't had a snow fall yet here and the temperatures are going to warm up considerably on Friday for the weekend. (10C) However, it's very cold here this morning at -5. I don't look forward to the first time I have to drive on snowy roads each year! Have a good day.
Beautiful shots of the little bird trying to stay warm. I love the snow and something I really miss about being in Texas.
Beautiful photos of the birds. I'm sure they appreciated the respite from the snow. Even though I live in Wisconsin, the first few snowstorms are always the most dangerous here, too, and we should all know better. Slow and steady wins the race, lol.
I'm wondering if your camera is still on the tripod in the kitchen at the ready Val? I took this tip and have mine at the back window, although we do trip on the legs occasionally.
Great shots of the doves.
I get all puffy in cold weather too, at least it looks that way with my heavy coat on.
Awwww, poor babies look so cold.
My very favorite birds!
Beautiful doves and great photography. We should be having cooler weather, instead we're having record-breaking highs. So weird.
Valerie! As I type we are getting a blast of our first snowfall here in Southern Ontario! EEKS tomorrow morning...but then I will have a good photo opportunity! Man was I a frustrated gardener with my oun "sandbox". I struggled all summer to make myself enjoy the garden..sigh.Too much sand for me!
