Aquilegia or Columbine for Macro Saturday
Aquilegia or Columbine is a delicate and airy flower in the garden. This one is pale pink. I have a white one and also a purple which have not bloomed yet.
These plants are easy to grow in just about any soil. They even tolerate dry conditions which makes them perfect for the Sandbox. The plant does reseed so next year you will more. For more macro photos visit here.

Hi, I love the lavender colored columbine. They are just starting to bloom in my garden, but the caterpillars have been busy eating the leaves. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. Jennifer
A delicate and beautifully shaped flower! Love the soft colour! great photos!
I find these to be so interesting. All the little compartments sometimes with different colors in the middle.
They are very beautiful indeed and this one has a wonderful color.
Thanks for sharing your lovely macros on Macro Flowers Saturday.
Have a great weekend!
I love columbine, have both the wild and cultivated varities in my garden. You are right about the new plants popping up all over the place. I usually transplant them into a bigger clump for the following year.
I love columbine. It doesn't seem to last very long here, as spring passes by in the blink of an eye, and it's sweltering lol. I have a pink and white one, and a creamy coloured one in my garden. Yours are very pretty! :)
