Blue Jays at the Birdbath

We had a dozen Blue Jays in the backyard last Saturday.  The place was hopping.   They took over the bird feeders and all the trees.   I took many pictures but I picked this one to show you today.   You can find many more interesting critters at Camera Critters today and tomorrow.  Happy Mothers Day to you.  Have a great weekend.

Terrific photo. They look like they're just hanging out having a bit of a natter ... so cute.

I have also had several here at once. I think it is always this way but that one bird looks identical to the other and we don't realize how many there are in the area. Here you got four to land and got them together.

Have you ever thought about language and what the blue jay speaks? I know a sparrow cannot talk like a blue jay and neither can any other bird.

Wow I have never seen Blue Jays before they so beautiful birds, you are very lucky to have them and what a lovely photo. I might go to a dusk chorus walk this evening organised by Bird Watch Ireland.

Nice shot of the Jays, I love that bird bath.

They are beautiful and very different than the Stellar's Jays and Scrub Jays here in California.
I love to see natures variations on a theme.

It looks like they are at a convention. Did you eavesdrop to find out what they were talking about? ;)

Hi Val
There was a day last week when I opened the back door to throw out peanuts in the shell and about a dozen blue jays flew off in all directions. I've never seen that many at once in our backyard.
Either they came from your place or flew south to you from ours. :-)
Have a Happy Mother's Day!

This is a wonderful grouping, full of colour and I can imagine the sounds made from such a noisy group that bluejays are. Their presence can create such activity at a feeder area. A hap[py mother's day wish to you tomorrow too. Ann

The blue jays look so sweet gathered there by the watering place! A time to drink and a time to chatter!
