Colourful Chrysanthemums for Fertilizer Friday

This week I removed all the petunias from their containers. They were really looking pretty shaggy.  I purchased pots of Chrysanthemums in different colours to give a clean fresh look.
pale pink mum 9-4
Costco sells really large containers so I purchased this one, a pale pink one, to put at the front of the house.
pink mums 9-9 with allisum and logo
This one, a brighter pink, is out by the pond alongside the white allysum. I think they compliment each other.
yellow mums 9-9 with logo
This one, a bright yellow chrysanthemum I put down in the flower bed.  It will add a bright pop of colour in the fall.
Autumn Clematis-The Beatles with logo
I had to add this one.  The Clematis Orientalis has finished flowering for the most part and I just think the seedheads are so cute.  I call this photo the “ She Love You Yeah Yeah Yeah” They look like the moppheads of the Beatles.
Rose hips with logo
The Rosa Rugosas have huge hips on them now.  The chipmunk has been busy eating them lately.
Well, that is all this week.  I am trying out a new posting site called Windows Life Writer that Back Porch Musing mentioned on her blog this week.  I like that I can use a different font.  Let me know if you like it too.  Happy Gardening. Valerie

Morning Valerie,
Your mums are beautiful. I have to pull out all my petunias too, sure hate to tho, they are still blooming beautifully but only on the ends ,and that's about 3 feet out of the pots. lol The rest of the plant looks pretty sick.I have "Barbara Bush" bush petunias that reseed every year and they still look great.
Have a blessed day,Lynda

Hi Val,I have not pulled all my annuals from their pots, the hummies are still here using them. But I do love the one you put in and around the garden, a lovely shot of color. Have a great weekend. Jen

Hey,
I can relate to those huge hips growing on Rosa Rugosa. Ha. I just ate a yummy piece of strawberry pie.

I love your mums! Such an abundance of healthy blooms! I found out that deer really like mums so I don't grow them much anymore.

I love the title to the posting Beware of Woman with Shovel. LOL! Sounds like me because I am always moving plants or digging new beds. Looks like you have been very busy with your shovel.
Love your new mums now your garden is all set for Fall color. My containers are so terrible looking right now and I need to pull all of the petunias as you have done.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful photos, Valerie! I love the clematis seed heads, too. My rugosas don't have hips yet – I've been deadheading them as they seemed to still want to bloom. But the Rosa glauca is covered in hips for which the birds are very grateful! Oh, the different font looks great. Have a wonderful week. – g
