At the Mill Pond

swans mosaic

I had to see our family Doctor in nearby Richmond Hill the other day.  My foot has healed now and I can get back to normal activities.   I will have to watch where I am going.   Oh, and I have to have a bone scan too.    On my way home I decided to pass by the Mill Pond in the centre of town for a quick look to see if there was anything to photograph.   It was chilly that day but there were three white swans on the bank and some seagulls out in the middle.  There was a find skim of ice over the pond.  I quickly captured these lovely creatures and then scee-daddled back to the van.

I am joining Mary our hostess for Mosaic Monday.   Hope you are not too stressed out with the Christmas shopping.  We decorated the Christmas tree so you will see some of the ornamentation over the coming weeks.   Have a great week.  Valerie

What graceful beauties. Your mosaic captures them so nicely. Glad to hear you're on the mend. It's never any fun to have foot problems. Especially during such a busy time of year!

Swans are so beautiful. We collect them here. No, not real ones, but decorative ones. You did a great job of capturing them in their various poses; it makes for an elegant mosaic.

Gorgeous swans! They are beautiful but I know from personal experience they can be quite aggressive too!

Swans are always so elegant, in the water and in the air. I like to go down to the Esquimalt Lagoon to see them - and I love it when they make a 'heart' with their necks!

The swans are beautiful!
Although my only experience with a swan involved a golf course, lots of squawking, and me running!!
They are beautiful creatures though!

Hi Val
I spent many a winter skating on the Mill Pond as I grew up in Richmond Hill.
The swans you captured there are beautiful - glad you braved the cold to photograph them.

I remember walking my children around this pond in all four seasons! Looks mighty chilly for those swans today!
