Here Today and Gone Tomorrow

Diptych Walnut Tree

I just had to share this with you today.   I took a photo of the walnut tree in our backyard just a couple of days ago.   This morning when I looked out most of the leaves had fallen off.   In another day or so the tree will be defoliated.   Sigh!!!   Now we wait while it has its nap for the winter before coming back to life in the spring.  Sigh!!!!    This gardener is indeed sad.    Valerie

Why can't the coloured leaves stay on a week or two longer?

Our tree at work is looking much the same way.

For some reason I love the fall best. I love the smell of all those fallen leaves. Crisp air.

Oh, Valerie, same thing here. I wish the leaves could linger so much longer than they do. I was sadly counting the months until we'll see them again (almost five!). That's not fair, lol.

I would have a great big sigh too. I think we should be allowed to have those gorgeous leaves around for a long time! The beauty of them is truly amazing, gone way to soon!

It is sad. There are two walnut trees in a yard down the road and I took a photo of one 2 weeks ago in full yellow glory but it's been bare for a week now! Sad :(

Sorry to see the colourful leaves fall so soon!

Cheer up Val! Think how pretty the tree will look with soft fallen snow sitting on the branches. Then before you know it, spring will be back again.
Hope you don't get rain for the wedding.

I've watched the Ash tree outside my computer room window. It has taken a week for the leaves to fall off. I do, however, love the look of bare branched trees against the snow.
