One,Two and Three Little Ducks

Eldred King Park Mosaic

My husband informed me that there were some ducks in the little stream that runs through a park just beside the Regional Offices in Newmarket.  I decided to investigate one day last week.   I found these few Mallards in the open waters below a bridge.  My identification book tells me the two with blue on them are molting. Such a pretty blue.

Mondays I link up with Mary for Mosaic Monday a long running meme for showing off collages and mosaics.    I hope you have a wonderful week.   We are having the most unusual winter so far.  The weather people tell us it is going to be 7 or 8 degrees Celsius this wee.   A normal winter would be minus 15 at this time of the year.  We have very little snow cover on the plants too.   Valerie

Beautiful shots today Valerie. I always like the vibrant colours that pop out on ducks - like the green and blue. Enjoy the 'springy' weather. Pamela

When I see mallards I always think of the childhood book I loved--I think it was called Make Way for ducklings, not sure, but my granddaugther also has the book and I love reading it to her.

I have such a weakness for ducks, so loved these shots.
Winter has been strange all over the country - but there still time for it to revert to normal!

Hi Val
Love the new look for your blog, you've been busy.
Yes, with the mild temperatures there will be less activities for winter festivals.

Your mosaic is lovely. We have had an incredibly warm winter here in Massachusetts. I love Mallards, they truly are beautiful.

ahhhhhhh that's lovely. I never knew that about the blue on their feathers.

We have to be careful here and not leave the doors open as the mallards will be in the house as they are so used to getting fed by the neighbours.

Our walk yesterday took us by a pond where ducks live. They were swimming happily in the rain. Great photos.

Hi;
Very pretty mosaic! I guess we're in the same boat as you -- very odd winter weather. Which makes for some nice walks though I kinda wish we'd get more snow...

Valerie: Nice to see that you are having a mild winter! Hubby and I escape to Arizona in the winter months from Grand Bend. Folks tell us that it has been a mild winter however many grey skies.
Waving from the desert..temps are 70F at noon but feels warmer while in the sunshine!
