Down at the Pond

The American Robin is nesting at the side of our house.   Here he is down at our pond getting his mud wet to make a solid home for the new babies.   More watery wonders can be found at Watery Wednesday.

How sweet. I hate it here when the crows go after the robin babies in their nests.

How delightful to have them nesting so close to the house. Enjoy.

Great shot of the robin going about his housebuilding chores. A pair of moorhens live on our pond and I could watch them for hours!
Thanks for visiting Normandy for MM, come back again soon, we love it when friends stop by.

Lovely photo of the American Robin collecting materials for her new house. Really nice to have it building so close.
Beautiful photo of your Mom. It is the anniversary of my Mom to-day. Lovely poem.

What a darling picture and harbinger of spring!

I think they use this mud to stick the beginnings of the nest to something. Here, they do that when they build their nests on the crook of downspouts. And they end up with a rigid nest that nothing blows down. A very nice photo.
