A touch of White

It has been a hot dry week and this weekend was no exception.  The flowers are blooming quicker but with the heat they are fading faster too.  My Japanese Tree Peony was beautiful but the blooms lasted only a few days.  Much too quickly to enjoy them.  I have been taking pictures of each bloom as soon as I see them in case they perish. Our grass is brown and crispy like the middle of July.  I like the heat after the long winter but we could really need a good rain now.  How about you?  Are you noticing this as well?   My mosiac is John Paul II clematis, a pale pink, a white bearded Iris, pink and white Filipendula or Queen-of-the-Prairie, and a white Clematis "Guernsey Cream".  The middle is the Japanese Tree Peony.   Have a great week.

For more Mosiac fun visit our host Mary at DearLittleRedHouse.

Hi Val, Yes the garden is showing heat stress. A rain shower would be very welcome. Take care, Jen

Nice whites Val and your tree peony is a pretty colour. Yes, rain would be most welcome on our side of the lake too.

Very pretty mosaic! It is dry here too but we did get a couple of days of rain lately. Our temperatures have really fluctuated between 8 and 22 in the daytime. Our grass is lush and green though.

Our weather is like that too.
We go from very cold - to very hot - with no time in between. My peonies are gorgeous right now - but I know as soon as the rain comes they will be destroyed and I will have to wait another year to see their beauty again.

The heat is no fun for man or flower! Lovely mosaic!

Oh I really love the name of the plants in your mosaic!! We are not having heat at all just the constant dripping of rain right now in the Northwest :0)

Hiya ... we are just the opposite... rain and more rain -- though (i hesitate to say it outloud) the weather man says we are in for a dry couple of days.

One thing for sure is... when it rains it is FANTASTIC green after.

Have a great week.

Would you like to share your hot, dry week with those of us whose weeks were cool and wet?

Love your clematis! Same thing happens to my peonies - they are long gone, but gosh were they beautiful while they lasted!

Such a pretty flower collage! Love how the central flower slightly overlays the others so it seems to give another dimension to the collage!

Yes indeed, we could use some rain! And yes, the flowers are fading way too fast.

Your flowers are just beautiful. I've always admired tree peonies.

We live on the other side of the country and haven't felt ANY summer heat yet. Still hopeful.

That last comment was NOT from Tim - it was from Lorrie. I didn't realize he was signed in.
