Rose of Sharon for Mosiac Monday

The Rose of Sharon is my plant of choice at the moment for photos.  The plant is two years old in the garden but this is the first year  that has bloomed.  The flowers are a violet-blue with a raspberry centre.

Join our host Mary for Mosiac Monday.    Have a great gardening week.  It promises to be very warm week here this week.  I guess we need to enjoy it because the weather will cool off come September.  Valerie

While the Rose of Sharon is considered to be quite an old-fashioned plant in my part of the world ... and it's usually only seen in older gardens ... it remains such a beauty! Lovely collage.

Such a lovely, old-fashioned shrub -- reminds me of the farmsteads that are fast disappearing from my state... Thanks for sharing at MM> :)

Dear Valerie, first I thought it remains me at hibiscus, just learned it is the same flower. You got a very nice one in violet-blue. It is so nice to see bloom after bloom opening. Have a nice week! Anja

Beautiful mosaic of a very pretty flower. I'm not very familiar with Rose of Sharon. Does it do well in cold weather (like Utah's snow)?

i have two large Rose of Sharon shrubs in my backyard. They are alomost tree sized! I love their beautiful flowers but when the blooms fall in the hundreds they need to be swept up daily from my patio or they make a mess.

Lovely! I used to have a Rose of Sharon but it was planted in a totally wrong place and has long been replaced. Yours is doing very well and looking very pretty!
