Flowers for my Birthday

Last Sunday was my Birthday.   I am 29 again.   My husband and I were invited out to supper at the Swiss Chalet in Barrie by our sons and there loved ones.   My Grandson helped me eat my dinner and thus saving me a few calories.   We did have a cheese cake back at our firstborn’s home later complete with a few candles.  Didn’t want the fire department called in.   Second son and his girlfriend gave me a lovely bouquet of white and red roses with a bit of baby’s breath.   I hope I am not flaunting the rules here as it did not come out of my garden but probably from some garden in Equador.   I just had to show it off.

I broke one of the white roses placing it in the vase and so I placed it in a little blue dish.  I played around with the photo in “Photoscape” and added a texture from Kim Klaussen Cafe.

I am joining Ramblings from a Desert Garden for Monthly Garden Bouquet and Tootsie at TootsieTime for Fertilizer Friday.   I thank these gals for hosting this opportunity to show off your blooms.   Have a great Weekend.   Valerie

Happy Birthday for last Sunday ... 29 AGAIN! It's amazing how many times that 29th comes around, lol! I personally decided I'm quite happy turning 30 every year for the rest of my days.

Beautiful bouquet ... and definitely worth posting for MGB. Your photo of the lonesome white rose bloom is just gorgeous. I'll have to learn how to do that one day.

Hello Valerie,

Oh, I do love rose bouquets, no matter what garden they came from. I am glad you had a nice birthday.

Thank you so much for participating in this month's MGB.

Happy belated 29th birthday, Valerie! Sounds like you had a great time and what a lovely bouquet. I love red and white roses together, so classic.
Hi Val
The bouquet is stunning and you photographed it to its best advantage.
Did you get snow yesterday? In the afternoon I looked out the window and there it was, swirling and dancing in the wind.

Happy 29th! We are exactly the same age! I had another such birthday myself just a few months back. ; ) I think, though, that my Son #1 will soon catch me in age. But about your MGB. It is always such a nice surprise to receive a gift of roses, isn't it? I love how you salvaged the broken rose, and what pretty photo effects!
Well, Happy Birthday!!

Lovely bouquet. Sounds like you really enjoyed your birthday, I'm so glad!

Both photos are beautiful, but the single rose is amazing! Love it!

I'm absolutely smitten with the rose in the blue cup. Gorgeous photo and reminds me of lovely bud vases.
Thanks for the link to Monthly Garden Bouquet, a new meme for me.

I love these photos, but the bottom one is my top fave. Lovely and unusual. I want that blue cup!
It sounds like you had a nice birthday. The flowers are pretty. I usually get flowers from my daughter, too, because she is a floral designer.

Abstract Flowers

I found this photo in my Lightroom files yesterday and I decided to join Bonnie for her monthly Pixel Dust Photo Art PhotoArtFriday. Her theme this month was funny enough abstract art.  So I added one of her textures called Si  Belle to my abstract flowers and that is it.

First Birthday

Yesterday my husband and I attended our granddaughters first birthday party.  The house was alive with little ones having a fun time of running through the house.  Kenzi wanted to join it but they kept knocking her down as they sped past her.  She is a trouper though.  No tears as she got back up and tried to go with the flow again. The hitch came when she was to participate in the smash the cake ritual that all of my daughter-in-laws family do at the first birthday.  Her maternal grandmother had made the smash cake and Kenzi was supposed to get down into it with both hands and get covered in cake.   Kenzi was having no part in it.  She cried as her hand was pushed into the cake.   Oh well maybe next year.  It was lovely to see all the little babies born at the same time as Kenzi and how sweet they all were.  Kenzi’s cake was an Elmo cake.  He is her favourite character.  I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.  I can feel spring in the air even though we have quite a bit of snow left bu…
