A Blue Hue for Macro Flower Saturday

On the front lawn my husband and I planted a Colorado Blue Spruce 20 years ago.   It is probably 25ft tall now and gets wider each year.  Thankfully we did put it to the side of the lot and not in front of any windows.   It seems to be very happy in its location despite being planted in sandy soil.   I love the blue colour of the stems.   I recommend it as a great specimen tree.

All too often we take things for granted; just look at the intricate texture in this photo...amazing! We just have to take the time to slow down and look. Thank you!

I hope the blue spruce we put in the backyard remains compact.
It's called 'Baby Blue' and has the same hue as yours. Love the colour and your shot Val.

What an amazing image of your glorious blue spruce. We just sold our home and are leaving two behind. Hopefully we will plant a new one. It's astounding, they sure add to property value. Thanks for your visit and lovely post.

Pretty shade of blue tone. I like how it looks sort of frosty.

We have been in our house 28 years on Dec. 1st. That first year we bought a living blue spruce tree from the boy scouts to use as a Christmas tree in the house.
We planted it outside in our very sandy soil and it is beautiful and always full of little birds who are protected by the sharp needles and tight branches.

Beautiful Colorado Spruce. Does it have purple cones. Such a pretty and tough tree. MB

Your spruce is so beautiful, Val! I adore them. We have a little one (three feet tall) in a container and I have agonized about where to plant it. But he's also no longer blue! Not enough sun, maybe?
