Poppies for Mosaic Monday

poppie mosaic

The poppies are blooming in profusion in one of the beds of the Sandbox.   In the early morning you can find me out there in my housecoat with the camera trying to capture them before the breeze comes up and blows them here and there.   It must have been a mixed packet of seed that I strew in the flowerbed because the blooms are either a deep red, a peachy pink with a white fringe or a orange red.  We had a rain storm last night and this morning they were covered with rain drops.   I have also discovered in learning photoshop elements that there are loads of brushes to download and use in your photos.   I am fascinated with them.   These brushes are frames that came from Deviant Art.

I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.   Hope you had a wonderful long weekend.  The weather was perfect here for outside activities or just a long afternoon nap on a chaize lounge in the shade.   As always your comments are so appreciated.  Valerie

Awesome, love your mosaic. My poppies are not coming up this year. :(

May her flag fly high & proud forever over this great land ... may God see the changes we need & grant us that blessing.

Happy 4th, my friend,

TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon

Valarie, I always love dropping into your garden through Mosaic Monday and seeing how it is progressing and what you have flowering. You always have something beautiful to show us. These poppies are lovely - I have never grown them, but I am thinking I might plant some this year.
Thanks again for sharing and have a wonderful week.

Simply beautiful! Poppies are not something I can grow here, so it's been a joy to see your beauties.
Gorgeous poppies and they make a beautiful mosaic!

I love my poppies - I never know where they'll come up and I enjoy the surprise. This year I was happy to see several pale pink poppies I'd planted last year. In our old house we had ruffled poppies and I'd like to get some more of those.

Gorgeous peonies, Val. I threw a lot of seed around this spring but it was to cool and damp for anything to grow.

Oh, my, I'm excited that you discovered brushes – very addictive! Have fun! – g

Abstract Flowers

I found this photo in my Lightroom files yesterday and I decided to join Bonnie for her monthly Pixel Dust Photo Art PhotoArtFriday. Her theme this month was funny enough abstract art.  So I added one of her textures called Si  Belle to my abstract flowers and that is it.

First Birthday

Yesterday my husband and I attended our granddaughters first birthday party.  The house was alive with little ones having a fun time of running through the house.  Kenzi wanted to join it but they kept knocking her down as they sped past her.  She is a trouper though.  No tears as she got back up and tried to go with the flow again. The hitch came when she was to participate in the smash the cake ritual that all of my daughter-in-laws family do at the first birthday.  Her maternal grandmother had made the smash cake and Kenzi was supposed to get down into it with both hands and get covered in cake.   Kenzi was having no part in it.  She cried as her hand was pushed into the cake.   Oh well maybe next year.  It was lovely to see all the little babies born at the same time as Kenzi and how sweet they all were.  Kenzi’s cake was an Elmo cake.  He is her favourite character.  I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.  I can feel spring in the air even though we have quite a bit of snow left bu…
