Simplicity

berries with naturesbeauty texture

Tomorrow is the last day of January already.   Thursday is Groundhog day.   If the weather keeps up this week at temperatures above 0 and rain he will not be seeing his shadow.   Is that 6 more weeks of winter?   I found these berries hanging on a bush the other day.  I’m not sure if they are highbush cranberries or not.   They seem to suit the texture today called”natures beauty” from Kim Klassen.    Kim’s Texture Tuesday challenge this week is simplicity and so I kept it simple.   I used a layer of the texture and used the blending mode of multiply and then added another layer of the same texture at blending mode soft light.  I used layer masks to remove the some of the texture from the berries.

I am also joining Lisa Gordon for The Creative Exchange.   Valerie

This is really beautiful!
You chose a wonderful texture for this, and the details in the berries is just fantastic.

Thank you so very much for sharing with us at The Creative Exchange this week.

Have a wonderful evening!

Nice photo! They look like highbush cranberries to me too. We'll get 6 extra weeks of winter here whether Mr. Groundhog sees his shadow or not. :)

What a beautiful photo!
I love your header - the little 'you' is adorable! How did you do that?

Very beautiful. Kim's textures are so nice and she is incredibly generous in her sharing. This winter has been such a roller coaster, I would not be surprised at anything it does.
Blessings, Audrey

Oh, how beautiful! I love how they are all crinkled up from winter, but maintain their bright color.

I love your use of the texture in this picture. It worked out beautifully. A lovely image. genie (the one whose thumbnail Mr. Linky would not let go up)

I found you via the comment on Ponside's blog. Your blog looks interesting, so I will follow. In Germany we call the berries you photographed so beautifully 'Snowball-Berries', the plant might be Virburnum opulus, and they are slightly toxic, though in Eastern Europe they use them for marmelade (and freezing seems to destroy the toxic ingredients - though I will not try it out).

I don't know if these highbush cranberries or not - but the color is divine. "Nature's Beauty" looks great over top. I don't think I have that texture - must check it out.

Hi Valerie, Love those bright red berries. I'm surprised the birds haven't gotten them! Hang in there, spring is on the way!

Love the berries, heck, I love the whole picture.
I think my evergreens grew this winter. We're way above normal this winter and not much snow - I'm at Michigan/Indiana stateline.

Hoping You Have a Blessed Easter
