This weekend was perfect to be outside doing anything but if you wanted to do a chore in the garden you had to be out there early in the morning. If you were not the day got too hot. I planted some flower seeds in the little circle garden that we built in the backyard last year. Last year I had great success with a packet of seeds from Renee’s seeds in California that had scarlet runner beans, nasturtiums and red zinnias in it. It was called a hummingbird selection. The flowers were amazing and I took scads of photos of them. This year I put in a selection I got from Renee of Heirloom Runner Bean “painted Lady”, mounding Nasturtiums “Copper Sunset” and cutting Zinnias “Raspberry Sorbet”. I will keep you posted on how well they do over the summer. I hope that you have been enjoying the weather and planting some seeds of your own.
I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday. Have a great week.

Anything flowers that attracts the hummer would be just great to me. I will look forward to seeing some photos later in the summer. Wonderful mosaic, have a great week!
What a fun day ... digging in the dirt. You will have some pretty flowers & birds to enjoy.
Have a great day ~

A hummingbird selection does sound wonderful! We put out a feeder even here at our condo...we love hummers!
Now that must have been lots of work, but it looks amazing. Lovely way you created your mosaic too. Beautiful photographs.

I've been planting seeds, too. Unfortunately, the neighborhood kitties have been rearranging all my work! We'll see what comes up and where! It is good for the soul to dig in the dirt!
It must be a blast when the flowers come up and you see what you have. I'm not that brave!
Nice mosaic, Val.
I love scarlet runner beans and have wonderful memories of growing them in England with my late Uncle. The beans are delicious and the flowers attract the hummers. Zinnias and nasturtiums are favourites of mine too. I also planted some this weekend.
You're right about getting out there early - it IS hot. We actually haven't done much real gardening this weekend at all - just working on other projects around the house.
It looks like you were busy Val!
I too, spent the weekend gardening. Too much as a matter of fact, but things are looking good, so that makes it all worthwhile.
Have a wonderful Monday!
Lovely and colourful mosaic. Yes, even here in Sweden we have warm weather at the moment, so best to be in the garden mornings or evenings.

I'm sure the new combo will be as stunning as last year's. We haven't yet had a hot day here, but we've had a fair amount of sunshine in the last two weeks. I planted on Saturday and today there is lovely, soft rain.
Hooray for pretty flowers, warm gardening weather and SPRING! I hope your seeds grow well, Val. We did some gardening on Saturday here, but the rain has come on our holiday Monday.
Wonderful set of shots of such a nice activity.
Can't wait to see Valerie. I usually plant Scarlet Runner beans, but haven't yet this year. Maybe I'll plant some tomorrow.
Hugs,
Jann
What a lovely mosaic!
Have a wonderful week,
Markus
I am thinking that you will have a lovely garden in the next weeks. I have planted seeds, plants and gotten my hands filthy with the love of dirt. I am having to really take my time in doing anything these days though. Happy week~
Sounds like a lovely selection of flowers - nasturtiums are beautiful and apparently the flowers and leaves can be eaten but I have never been brave enough to try! Beans are great to grow - so pretty as well as tasty!
Any flower that attracts the hummers I love!!
Try Lantana in pots..I planted bright orange and yellows!! Hummmm!
