Fall Pinks in the Sandbox

Fall Pinks in the Sandbox

Do you ever have days that you seem to just spin your wheels and not be able to be productive about anything?  I am having one today.  I have plenty to do but just can’t seem to get at it.   I have been back and forth to the computer many times deciding what photos to include in my mosaic today.  I finally went out and took some new ones.   The Colchicum or Autumn Crocus is popping up in the Sandbox garden.  They just seem to appear overnight and surprise you when out wandering around.  Mine are a soft lilac.  I have way too few cosmos this year.  I like great swaths of them in the autumn garden.   Miss Ruby buddlea had a passing visitor this week.  The butterflies like our summer birds will be migrating somewhere warmer soon.  We thought we had seen the last of the hummingbirds this week but my husband spotted one making the rounds of the pink zinnias in the garden.
I will be joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.  If you haven’t had a chance to join us or just look in on the wonderful mosaics there please do.

Lovely mosaic! It's surprising the blooms that are still coming in the garden even though the plants leaves and stems seem to be dried up. It sure feels like fall here today! Have a great week! Blessings, Pam

I love the colchicum and the butterfly bush. I too love cosmos and want to incorporate some into my garden next year. I have lost a lot of my purple coneflowers due to asters yellow; cosmos would replace the pink. Have a good week!

Hi Val
Sometimes I think I have weeks of spinning, not just days.
You and Beth both had pink in mind this week for your collage, another of my fav colours. If the pink Queen Anne's lace come back this colour next year, I' ll be sure to share.
My colchicums have popped up too but some are buried under shrubs.

I wake up and think of all the things I want to accomplish that day and rarely get many done! I love your pretty flowers...with some shades of lavender in your photos!

Autumn crocus? Now I have never known that there is such a thing. I love visiting you gardeners. Sounds like a wonderful autumn flower with the cool weather mimicking those early spring temps. Lovely mosaic and beautiful flowers.

Definitely have those kind of days, too :) Love your mosaic, gorgeous blooms, such pretty colors. Zinnia's are one of my favorites!

Love the pinks in the garden at this time of year amongst all the yelllows and oranges. Think that's why I like the sedums so much. Saw my first (and only) hummingbird yesterday!

Ah ha! I am glad I am not the only one that has days like that. I only have Monday off work, and sometimes I wonder where it goes and my husband is about to walk in the door, and ask what I did all day! But today I was very productive and wished I had more hours! Have a wonderful week.

Must be a "Monday" thing because I can't seem to finish anything today either.

Lovely Mosaic though. It's nice to still see some lovely flowers blooming with Fall rapidly approaching.

I have far too many of those days, but I notice they usually happen when I simply have too much to do. :-(

Your choices here are beautiful Valerie, and they made for a really wonderful mosaic.
xo.

Those colchicum are so pretty - mine nomally stay upright for a day or so and then the heavy rain flatens them.

Such pretty shades of pink, and I think I need to get a budlia like yours.

Yes - I have those days also - seems like way to many these days. :(
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment. Have a great week.

Autumn pinks are a bit deeper than spring pinks, I think. So pretty. I've never seen a ruby buddleia - ours are all purple. We have hummingbirds zooming around ours, too.

Love all the pinks in your garden just now.

Beautiful photos, Val, with the soft, slanting light of late summer. I also like big patches of cosmos. Our autumn crocus has suddenly appeared, too, but it always flops over immediately, even if I stake it. So pretty but I can't seem to keep it off the ground!

We are lucky to have hummers all year. Right now there are plenty of flowers still for them but soon they will be relying on the feeders.

Have a great Sunday!

Hoping You Have a Blessed Easter
