His and Hers

His and Hers Hats in B&W

This photo came out of the archives of 2010 pictures.  That in itself would qualify for Bonnie’s Friday Photo Art Challenge of “aged” but the hats sort of said old timers to me too.  I used Bonnie’s latest free texture called Ancient Treasures.   I took it into Topaz adjust and used a black and white preset to age it more.

I will be joining Photo Art Friday.  See you there.    Have a great weekend.

Oh, I love images like this Valerie. The hats look like they are waiting patiently to sit upon their owners head and protect them from the sun while they all take a walk. :)

A beautiful treatment and great use of the texture! Thanks for sharing with Photo Art Friday.

a lovely and very touching vignette . Clever use of the texture background too
p.s. had not heard of Topaz so appreciate your outlining the photo manipulation here

The 2 hats look at home on the pegs and hint at days of being worn by the owners together.

this is quite inspiring. I am going to have to find out what you mean by "I took it into Topaz adjust and used a black and white preset to age it more." thanks for supplying that insight. I am DOing one photo in PSE8 a day [started Monday] until I feel as comfy there as I've grown on Picasa.
the image is just gorgeous and simple which are my favourite things in this World of digital fiddling!!

I am not sure if I already posted a comment or if I accidentally deleted it. anyway, the worst that can happen is I comment twice!!!
which this one is worth, by the way. I love it and I am so glad for your wee explanation "I took it into Topaz adjust and used a black and white preset to age it more. " though I don't have the first clue what it means. thanks for something to gnaw on and figure out!!

I think the details and weaving on the hats certainly stands out more this way than it would in colour. Also it has a nice warm feeling which suits the thought of his and her hats hanging out together.

Very nice piece. I like the B/W processing. It works well with your subject material and the texture you used.
