Take a Little Walk

Scott Kelby walk

I participated in the 5th Annual Scott Kelby Walk with members of the Newmarket Camera Club and our walk leader Ross Chevalier.  This walk occurred in 1334 cities and towns and included 30,000 walkers.   Our walk was through the main street of Newmarket and ended in Fairy Lake with members concluding their walk at a local restaurant to share stories and photos.

It was a cold morning but with a little sunshine.  My gloves came out of storage for this day.   The last time I took this walk several years ago it poured rain so the day was a small improvement.  Taking a walk through the streets was interesting. I am normally going through town in the car with no time for looking in the shop windows.

I am joining Mosaic Monday with Mary.   Have a great week.

Sounds like a fun day Val. I haven't been along Main Street for a couple of years but know there are many interesting shops to browse.

What a fun thing to do. I love your mosaic, especially the tower in the lower right. It's kind of spooky looking. :)

What a beautiful mosaic! I love the variety and how you styled the mosaic --choosing photos, probably cropping them, etc. Great job! I enjoyed it a lot!

It's been years since I was in downtown Newmarket - I remember buying a beautiful hat for a parade. The photo walk must have been a lot of fun - and I recognise an orange chair from another version of the walk.

Sounds like a fun walk. Especially with everyone meeting at the restaurant at the end to share stories. Great post and photos. Thanks for sharing.

The scenery is so different on foot than on a car! Lovely shots you picked to share.

Really like the different subject matters in this mosaic, Valerie. When I was reading your text, I thought I'd see pictures of buildings and flowers - not knitting needles and bucket seats - well done.

I think it is always interesting to take a walk in an area that your normally only drive by. It makes every store and corner more intersting when seen up close. You chose some wonderful subjects to photogrpah, Val!

the great thing about a photo walk is that we see and observe things we might not usually see. The small details that combine together to make the whole story. Thank you for taking us along. Have a wonderful week, and thank you for stopping by my blog. ps - no we didn't see any snakes, generally they know you are coming and get out of your way!

You caught some great shots on your walk, that last one of the tower looks spooky, ready for Halloween!

The knitting needles are acting as a little reminder for me to pick up mine today!
