Warm and Dry Wishes

tray with afgan

I heard on the American news while visiting the Buffalo area this weekend that there was going to be a very large mass hurricane and everyone was battening down and getting supplies in for a nasty siege by hurricane Sandy.  The weather people in the US unfortunately forgot that the weather does not end at the border and I did not find out until I got home that this hurricane is so large that we here in southern Ontario and the province of Quebec were to be affected too with high winds and lots more rain.

I also found out that there was a large earthquake on the west coast of Canada. My brother and his wife live in Kitimat, B.C. very near the epicenter around Prince Ruperty and they felt the whole house shake for a minute or so. It was scary.  Fortunately it subsided and they carried on watching the baseball game.

So from the comfort of my favourite chair I  am wishing you all to be warm, dry and safe.

I wish the same for you too Valerie. We're supposed to get a lot of rain (up to 80 mm) here and it's already very windy. Take care! Blessings, Pamela

I had to laugh awhile ago while visiting a crafting message board an American wondered if any of Canada spoke English. They really know hardly anything about us. Have to chuckle at those American weather maps that just end with no other country in site. But they are very quick to blame Canada for the cold and snow we are always sending down there way.

Hi Val
Let's hope it doesn't get too nasty tonight or tomorrow.
Keep safe.

Hope you made it through okay, Val. We have some branches down, but that's about it. Thank goodness.

Take care and stay safe, Valerie. I like your photo - it looks really cozy - shades of a chilly fall morning, enhanced by a nice hot cup of tea.

Valerie, I am always amazed by the way our weather maps simply cut off at the Canadian border, as if there is no weather beyond northern Wisconsin. Talk about frustrating! I know Canada is there, they can't fool me. Do your radar sites do the same? And Crafty Gardener is right, our weatherpeople always say there's a 'Saskatchawan Screamer' headed our way our a 'Cold blast coming straight out of Canada'....as if all the cold and snow originates in Canada and we are just unwitting victims of Canadian Weather Cruelty. We would be warm year 'round if the Canadians didn't fling snow and ice in our general direction. But, though our cold weather 'comes from Canada' we can't see you on the weather maps, LOL! (I apologize for my fellow weather-deluded Wisconsinites!)

I hope the hurricane loses strength soon and everyone is safe.

Hoping You Have a Blessed Easter
