Cobblestone Road in a Victorian Era

Cobblestone Road with Victoria images with logo

This week for Photo Art Friday with Bonnie at Pixel Dust Photo Art we were given a texture called Cobblestone Road and asked to create some art using it.  I have recently discovered Dover Publications that send you some graphics from their books to use in your own artwork. I thought of them immediately as this week the selections were the Victoria Era.  I used the Cobblestone Road texture as the background and using layers in Photoshop I added one of my own photos of a run down shack in the area and then two of the graphics from Dover Publications. I had to make friends with the eraser tool to get the backgrounds off and then try to get the idea of perspective for the composition. I then used a texture called oilpainting from Shadowhouse Creations and blended with Linear burn at 34%.  I hope you like it.  I had fun creating it.

This is a fabulous composite Valerie. You've created a piece that could have many stories attached to it. Great work!

Lovely job that you have done with this. All you need is an antique gas lamp.. So neat to use those dover photos.. will have to look in to that.

It shows that you enjoyed making this one Valerie, it's lovely, like taking a trip down the old streets of London!

I'm reading a silly novel set in the Victorian era so your piece couldn't be more appropriate. Very sweet.

Valerie, I love this picture and as others have mentioned, I could weave a story from the image alone.
