It Is A Girl Baby Shower

Baby Shower mosaic 2

Yesterday was our daughter in law’s baby shower and it went off very well.  Karen’s sister Leah was the organizer with help from brother Scott’s wife Paula.  I helped put up a few decorations.   We had some games and some food and then there were gifts to unwrap.  One of the youngest attendees was upset that the presents were not for her and she protested with huge sobs.  Thankfully a pretty balloon helped sooth her feelings and we went on.  There were some new mommies with young ones and they were so happy just to be passed around and look at what was going on around them.

Mosaic 1

Karen is a big Winnie the Pooh fan so the cake and many of the gifts were of that theme.  Karen and a good friend of hers is also expecting and we had a baby bump picture.  Leah made a wonderful baby carriage out of diapers with a diaper doll inside.  It was so cute.  Our son arrived at the end to thank everyone and take all the gifts out to van.  I don’t think he could see out the back on the way home as it was piled to the ceiling.

I am joining Mosaic Monday with Mary from DearLittleRedHouse.   Have a great week.

Your DIL is very pretty. Congrats to you and the family. The shower sounds like a lot of fun. It is nice to know the baby is a girl, so all the presents will be perfect for the little one's arrival. Lovely photos, have a happy week!
Wow, look at all those presents. A fabulous time was had by all. Now you can sit back and wait...the hardest part. Jen

What fun! A baby shower is fun any time, but a shower for a baby girl is just a little bit ....well, pinker, I guess!

How wonderful to be part of this great day for your DIL. It seems to be shower season as I'm hosting a bridal shower on Saturday for my niece.

What fun at the baby shower. Our daughter had one too, unfortunately she lives in Sooke so I couldn't go. But I heard all about the fun, the food, and the gifts.

Abstract Flowers

I found this photo in my Lightroom files yesterday and I decided to join Bonnie for her monthly Pixel Dust Photo Art PhotoArtFriday. Her theme this month was funny enough abstract art.  So I added one of her textures called Si  Belle to my abstract flowers and that is it.

First Birthday

Yesterday my husband and I attended our granddaughters first birthday party.  The house was alive with little ones having a fun time of running through the house.  Kenzi wanted to join it but they kept knocking her down as they sped past her.  She is a trouper though.  No tears as she got back up and tried to go with the flow again. The hitch came when she was to participate in the smash the cake ritual that all of my daughter-in-laws family do at the first birthday.  Her maternal grandmother had made the smash cake and Kenzi was supposed to get down into it with both hands and get covered in cake.   Kenzi was having no part in it.  She cried as her hand was pushed into the cake.   Oh well maybe next year.  It was lovely to see all the little babies born at the same time as Kenzi and how sweet they all were.  Kenzi’s cake was an Elmo cake.  He is her favourite character.  I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.  I can feel spring in the air even though we have quite a bit of snow left bu…
