What if?

Chrysanthem mosaic

The beauty of using an editing software program is the ability to ask yourself…What would happen if I pushed this button or I made this colour look like that.   Sometimes happy results occur and then I have to stop and ask myself how did I do that.   I had bought a bouquet of flowers at the beginning of the week and I intended to photograph them but then life got in the way.   Today, I could see that many of the flowers looked done but the chrysanthemums were doing okay so I did some playing.  Once the photographing is done though I know they need editing.  Since changing over last year from photographing in mostly jpeg I made the brave move to only raw format.  I know that every photograph needs editing then.   I am enjoying the experience of what the various programs can do.

I am joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.   Hope you have a wonderful week.

Taking a break from a busy life should always mean playing with flowers!

Hi Val
I'm thinking your blog has a new look again?
Pretty soon you'll be hanging out a professional shingle for your photography. You've come a long way baby!

I enjoy editing my photos, but don't try the raw format as much as I probably should. It is always fun to see the finished project.

I've never tried RAW format - sounds intimidating. But a fun challenge. Your experiments turned out very well.

I find photo editing a relaxing past time when I need a break from what I'm doing. But I don't know what the raw form is about. Maybe I should take a class someday!

I love the your playing around turned out. I do the same thing all the time. Am taking another of Kim Klassen's ecourses and learning more about PSE and LR. It is such fun. I can pretend I am an artist...hahaha. My favorite of the 4 shots has to the the one with the little vase. The tonal quality is perfect for me. genie

chrysanthemums really last a long time when picked. They must be coming out here soon as they are usual around for Mothers Day in May.
I love the light in your first image.
I am hesitant to photograph in RAW as I think of all that editing which I really don't have the time for! Do you find RAW better?
Have a wonderful week.

Lovely button pushing! I try that too sometimes but usually with disastrous results. :)

Great job editing! I love playing around with my photos and I find once I get started that I could be sitting for hours,,then too tired to post!
Happy Easter!

Valerie, this mosaic is beautiful!!

One of the wonderful things about editing, is the button-pushing. Unfortunately, it can keep me busy for hours, and then I never remember exactly what I did!

I hope you've had a wonderful day.
