Seasonal Signs for SOOCS

It isn’t hard to find signs that fall is here.  I found these interesting items in the front yard.

maple leaf with logo
Maple leaves are falling from the trees.   In a few weeks we will have bare trees again until April.
Spent thistle with logo
The Scotch Thistle in the front needs to be pulled out and tossed in the compost heap. I found it’s spent seed heads interesting. The fluffy stuff on the top is seeds ready to be taken by the wind to a new place to germinate and begin a new plant.
I hope you are finding signs of the changing of the season on your property too. Get out and take a drive or a hike before the leaves are all gone.
Join Jan at Murrieta365 for Straight Out of the Camera Sunday. Take a photo, don’t edit it….okay a crop is allowed and post it for us to see.   See you there.  Valerie

I am sure the birds would love to save you the hassle and just eat those thistle seeds.
Love the leaf photo. It's pretty awesome for no editing!

Hi Val, Yes I have been out looking at the seasonal change. It is happening very fast this year and by Halloween, the leaves will be gone until next spring. They will be very welcome by then. Take care.

Valerie, I really like both your photos for today. The Scotch Thistle, is really striking. I love photos of "spent" plants.

I love the thistle seed head, Valerie. Great SOOC.

Yes, some very preliminary signs here with the first few leaves turning. I think it will be another 3 weeks before we have full autumn.

Love your new header, too! – g

Neat shots, Valerie. I've been out taking shots of the leaves and thistles too. We are all thinking about the changing season, I guess.

Oooohhh... love the pic of the thistle~ It does not promise to be a bright and beautiful fall season here. It was so hot and dry that the leaves are falling even before turning. I hope to see some color before they all drop off...
