Happiness is….for Mosaic Monday

There are times lately that I cannot think of anything to post on.    My garden is put to bed.  Anytime soon we will find snow on the ground and I will want to burrow in the house.    The last couple of weeks I have been clumping around in a not in the least fashionable contraption to heal the broken bones in my foot.    Yes, I did break some bones stumbling out of the parking garage in Toronto on our way to a Wedding reception.   I lived in denial for over a week and even went to the gym on a sore foot.   I broke down and had an x-ray and at first they thought it was okay but on a second look found I had broken three of my five toes and chipped a bone on the top.    Why am I whining  you ask?  Well misery likes company.   What can I say.
Happiness is
Mosaic today is a nice slice of gingerbread cake,  a new pink bloom on the violet, a good read of a fabulous Canadian photographer,  the promise of a new floor in the bathroom that is now installed.  Wahoo, no more 80s flooring.   And the last one is my lovely contraption for my foot.   Find more inspiration at Mary’s place for  Mosaic Monday.    Hope you have a great week.   Valerie

Oh my, I cringe just thinking about the pain you must have been in! I hope your foot heals very quickly, I am not a fan of casts in any shape or form, they drive me batty! Even after all of that, you have your garden ready for winter? I wish I could say the same (and I have two good feet!) Love your mosaic!

Oh NO, I'm sorry about your broken foot! Early last spring Echo stepped on my foot a good one and I'm sure broke it. I could feel it balloon up in my riding boots so I didn't take them off till I got home. I could tell by the pain, swelling and bruising that something was broken. I didn't get it x-rayed and just hobbled around for a couple weeks!

Oh you poor thing!! Broken toes? I pray you'll have a fast recovery. You've made a lovely mosaic and I know your garden is gorgeous. I wish we could get snow but it just doesn't happen often down here on the Gulf Coast.
Thanks for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

You area sturdy gal to have fought off the pain that long. Do hope now you will begin to move a bit better, a bit more quickly, and in a bit less pain. Even if under the weather, you were still able to give us a gorgeous mosaic. Thanks for persevering so you could get the shots. Hope you have a god week.

So sorry to hear you broke your foot, Val. I had a stress fracture in my foot a year ago at this time of the year so I know how it feels to wear that conraption! Hope you heal well and fast!

I just dropped by from another blog to look at your pictures.
well....you might like to read
" the pillars of the earth" by Ken Follett while your foot heals.....a great epic story.
Also my parents met in Newfoundland during WWll, my Mother was an RN in the Canadian Air force and my Dad was in the US Army..they lived in the states and had 7 children.....I'm number 5 :0).
They had great adventures during the war and some pretty hard times too.

thanks for the lovely visit and music too.

Happy Holidays

Hi Valerie sorry to hear about your foot but I suppose the upside is that it isn't gardening season so hopefully you should get plenty of rest.

You will just have to put your foot up and read all the garden posts preferably from hotter climates.
